Colorado Concept Tubing

The ‘Concept’ was born when we started designing each tube, each part of the frame for the specific loads and stresses that are in that part of the frame instead of relying on ‘stock’ industry standard sizes, profiles, diameters, thickness, etc, . The tapered down tube launched the first Serotta model that was designed from the ground up with this notion – the Colorado. It included not only the tapered down tube, but the power and traction enhancing ‘S bend’ chainstayprofiles that we developed in building bicycles for the 1984 Olympic team members. With those first Colorado frames, Serotta had forever broken away from following …and claimed the leading role in developing true performance engineering.

Today, the Colorado Concept lives in every Serotta, where each frame is engineered one part at a time to deliver a whole product that surpasses in performance and personalization- every frame is greater than the sum of its parts.



Produced at our own Serotta Composites Facility in Poway, California under the leadership of carbon fiber icon Mike Lopez; 2^nd generation craftsman in carbon fiber with over 30 years experience. Our proprietary designs and applied technology exploit carbon's potential to minimize weight, to dampen vibration and maximize performance.

TC5 Multi-Modulus Colorado Concept Torsion Core™ Carbon (Also in Aero Profile) The next generation of our handcrafted Torsion Core™ tubing, TC5 uses multiple modulus lay-ups for the highest performance, most durable tube platform ever. These Colorado Concept tubes are custom selected for each frame. Available in the maximum number of stiffness levels, tubes are tuned for rider-specific performance benefits. TC3 Multi-Modulus Colorado Concept Torsion Core™ Carbon The TC3 Torsion Core™ Colorado Concept carbon fiber tube set is made with maximum stiffness specifically for our HSG Carbon race bike. Multiple modulus lay-ups offer greater strength and durability than tubes constructed using more common methods. Found in: HSG

C4TI Triple Butted Colorado Concept Titanium Wall thickness changes three times over the length of each tube. 3Al/2.5V titanium tubes are produced to order, in-house, in a wide selection of diameters. Triple butting creates the lightest Ti tube set available without sacrificing strength. Manufactured-to-order tubes provide the ultimate in rider-specific performance benefits. PSTI Premium Select Colorado Concept Titanium Highest quality 3Al/2.5V titanium drawn into seamless tubing with various diameters and applications. Seamless tubes possess greater strength and durability and are ideally suited for oversized, cyclocross and mountain bike specific shapes and diameters. MODERN STEEL TECHNOLOGY STEEL is the benchmark by which all frame materials are judged. We use high-tech Niobium alloys supplied by Columbus and proprietary engineered in our Serotta factory to create tubing that is lighter and stiffer with greater resistance to corrosion than ever before.
